LJV’s Remarkable Achievements In 2024

A Year of Accolades and Recognition

2024 has been an outstanding year for LJV, marked by numerous accolades that underscore our commitment to excellence and innovation. We are proud to have secured the #115 spot on the Inc. 5000 list, a testament to our significant growth and dynamic business strategies. In addition, we ranked #3 on the IC100 and #7 on the Vets100, reflecting our excellence as a federal construction contractor and our dedication to supporting veterans.

The Greater Boston Chamber of Commerce recognized our efforts by naming us the 2024 Small Business Champion. This accolade is significant as it highlights our role in fostering small business growth and community development. It validates our hard work and motivates us to continue pushing boundaries.

Groundbreaking Projects and Technological Innovations

This year, LJV has been involved in groundbreaking projects that showcase our technical prowess and innovative approach. Notably, we completed the restoration and renovation of the NPS Kirt St Agents House (Lowell, MA), which required meticulous planning and execution to preserve its historical significance while incorporating modern functionalities.

In addition, we successfully installed an underground irrigation system at the iconic Bunker Hill Monument. This project improved the site’s landscape sustainability and demonstrated our expertise in integrating advanced construction technologies.

Our work at the US Coast Guard Station Boston involved numerous small projects that enhanced the facility’s operational efficiency and safety. Each project, regardless of size, reflects our commitment to delivering quality and innovation.

Empowering Communities Through Education and Workforce Development

At LJV, we believe in empowering the communities we serve. This year, our collaboration with Umana Academy allowed 4th-grade students to explore the world of construction, inspiring young minds to consider careers in this field. Such initiatives are crucial for fostering interest in construction and engineering among underrepresented communities.

Our founder and CEO, Liseth Velez, also significantly contributes to workforce development as an instructor in the We Reach MASSCEC program. By teaching Construction Management to adults, many of whom speak English as a second language, Liseth helps build a skilled and inclusive workforce. Her efforts ensure that individuals from diverse backgrounds have the opportunity to advance in the construction industry.

Unwavering Commitment to Diversity and Inclusion

Diversity and inclusion are core values at LJV. Under Liseth Velez’s leadership, we have built a diverse team comprising veterans, women, and individuals from underrepresented backgrounds. This commitment to diversity is further reinforced through our mentorship and leadership training programs in the LJV Leadership Academy.

Liseth’s role on the AGC of Massachusetts Board of Directors has been pivotal in advancing diversity and inclusion within the construction industry. Her leadership and advocacy at AGC MA diversity summits highlights our dedication to inclusive practices and equitable opportunities for all. These efforts are about meeting quotas and creating a culture where every team member feels valued and empowered.

A Vision for the Future: Sustainable and Inclusive Growth

Looking ahead, LJV is committed to sustainable and inclusive growth. Our projects increasingly incorporate eco-friendly materials and practices, ensuring we contribute positively to the environment. By integrating sustainable construction practices, we aim to set new benchmarks in the industry.

Moreover, we continue to focus on creating opportunities for underrepresented groups and reshaping the construction industry to be more inclusive. Our vision is to build structures and legacies that uplift communities and drive progress. We invite you to join us to create a brighter, more inclusive future, one project at a time.
